This is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish. They feature a different top ten list every week. This week's topic is the top ten authors I would love to meet!
1. Michael Grant - Any excuse to talk about the Gone series and fangirl all over the place about it. Also, I think he has an amazing imagination!
2. Margaret Atwood - She writes some amazing books. Also I have read some of her quotes and she seems like such an interesting woman.
3. Courtney Summers - All The Rage. Do I really need to say more?
4. Leah Raeder - Black Iris is now one of my favorite books. I want to meet the mastermind behind it.
5. Charlotte Bronte - Yes, obviously this is a pipe dream what with her being dead and everything. Ha. But I still want to meet the brilliant mind that came up with Jane Eyre.
6. Marissa Meyer - Love her Lunar Chronicles series!
7. Harper Lee - I know she is such a recluse, but I would love to pick her brain about To Kill A Mockingbird.
8. Jandy Nelson - the genius behind I'll Give You The Sun
9. Maya Angelou - another pipe dream, but this topic didn't really ask about authors we would actually be able to meet, right?
10. Hannah Brencher - I absolutely loved her memoir If You Find This Letter. She is also the sweetest person. After I raved about her book on Twitter, she sent me a love note of my very own!

Harper Lee is such a great pick. There are so many authors on your list on my TBR so I can't wait to get to them - Great list!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Grace!
DeleteSuch a great list and so wonderful to see Charlotte Bronte on there! I adore Jane Eyre and I would love to talk with her, I think it would be fascinating.

Thanks so much Rosy! It would be fascinating. I may not be able to ever speak with her, but a girl can dream, right?
DeleteNot familiar with these authors except for Broonte but she's dead already. :( but I hope you meet the others one day. :)
ReplyDeleteTop Ten Tuesday
Thanks Christine!
DeleteSuch a wonderful list, I totally agree with meeting Marissa Meyer and Jandy Nelson, their books are just so cool and magical!

Thanks Kristin!
DeleteHarper Lee is a great pick. I do wonder about her now, especially with all this new book talk. I've met Michael Grant a few times and he is honest and blunt and very funny. Also, the kindest man, though he will tell you otherwise. We met and he made sure I got home safely (wanted to arrange for a cab but I knew I could take the subway home for less $$). :)
ReplyDeleteOh Rachel, Michael Grant sounds so awesome. Now I want to meet him even more!
DeleteOoh, good choices! I also chose Harper Lee :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for tips on new-to-me books like the Gone series, Black Iris, and If You Find this Letter. Will check them out further. Would be interesting to chat with Charlotte Bronte, yes, or any of the sisters, if only...
Thanks so much Rita! Yeah, if you consider the authors that are dead, the list gets even longer. :)
DeleteNice list!! I forgot about adding Harper Lee to my list of authors I'd like to meet.
ReplyDeleteI've never actually met Maya Angelou, but I did have the wonderful opportunity of hearing her speak live and it was an amazing experience both times.
Thanks! Oh you are so lucky to have seen Maya Angelou speak in person. I bet she was amazing.
DeleteWhat a great post. I've got to remember this topic.
ReplyDeleteThanks!
DeleteAll of the above. Maggie Stiefvater, Nova Ren Suma and Holly Black. And I could continue... Writers are my favorite people, lol. Nice post!
ReplyDeleteThanks Ramona. I love all of the writers you mentioned as well. So many writers, so little time!
DeleteI would definitely love to meet Margaret Atwood. I should have put her on my list. I have read most of her books and I did a big term paper on her once as well. :)
ReplyDeleteCayt @ Vicarious Caytastrophe
Thanks Cayt! Margaret Atwood is an awesome writer and she seems like she would be so interesting.
DeleteCool list! I really want to meet Michael Grant too :)
ReplyDeleteRachel @ A Perfection Called Books
Thanks Rachel!
DeleteThis is a fabulous list! Hannah sending you that letter is SO amazing! She sounds wonderful, I need to read her book soon. Jandy Nelson would be amazing too, I love the way she writes. And you've reminded me that I need to finish the Gone series, because I'd be embarrassed if I met Michael Grant and hadn't ;)
ReplyDeleteShannon @ It Starts At Midnight
Thanks Shannon . . . oh how could you have not finished the Gone series?? It was amazing! You must do that NOW. Haha.
