Beyond the Books #3

Welcome to another installment of Beyond the Books, where I talk about things that I have been loving this week! I haven't done one of these in a few weeks, so I thought it was about time for another one.

Currently Reading

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows (Harry Potter #7) by JK Rowling
My love of Harry Potter continues. I am despising the fact that I have to do regular life stuff, like cleaning and walking the dog and talking to my husband. I just want to sit on the couch with my blanket and my book and read ALL DAY LONG.

Things I am Loving This Week

1. My Blanket from Society 6
I LOVE THIS BLANKET! It is so soft and cuddly and perfect for lying on the couch while reading Harry Potter. I love Society 6 in general though. I could spend so much money on that site. I bought the blanket from Evie Seo and you can check it out (along with her other stuff) here.

Another thing I bought from that site a month or so ago was this pillow. Notice that my dog is TRYING TO STEAL IT! She's trying to steal the blanket too. Good thing I love her so much or this whole trying to steal my stuff thing would make me mad. The pillow came from the store of Cait @ PaperFury and you can buy it here. Also, check out her other stuff at your own risk. You may feel compelled to buy EVERYTHING.
2. How I Met Your Mother reruns
I forgot how funny this show is. Except for the last season. Let's all just pretend the last season didn't happen, okay?

3. Cize workout
I haven't done this workout in a while, but I felt like I needed to switch things up a bit so I went back to it. I am the most uncoordinated person ever, but Shaun T explains the dance steps so clearly and I have (almost) no trouble keeping up. I always sweat so hard when I am doing this workout. It's so much fun that I don't want the workout to end!

4. American bacon
I love Italy. I really, really do. The food here is amazing, but pancetta just doesn't work for my back cravings. For the first time, the commissary on base here started carrying American bacon with NO NITRITES!! Nitrites give me migraines, so I was ECSTATIC to make this discovery. Needless to say, I have eaten a lot of bacon this week.

5. Internet
Last week, my Internet was out for SIX DAYS. It was like the end of times, people. I was forced to take a break from the blog, which turned out to be a good thing for my blogging slump. But being without the Internet for so long drove me crazy. I felt so out of touch with EVERYTHING. And right before my Internet went out, my husband and I had taken a trip so basically I was two weeks behind in responding to blog comments. Oops!

How has your week been? What are you reading now? How great is BACON??

  1. Um BACON IS EVERYTHING! I would freak out if I didn't have access to it. I agree to forget that last season of HIMYM especially that finale. Almost ruined the whole thing for me. Love that blanket!

    1. Grace, yes bacon is LIFE!!! Yeah, that finale of HIMYM almost ruined the whole show for me too. It made me so mad. So I just watch all the reruns, except the ones for the last season. Everything else was pure gold.

    1. Rachel, oh man I can't believe you prefer pancetta! We cannot be friends anymore. Haha, just kidding. Depending on the brand, I do still enjoy pancetta. But I just don't love it as much as bacon. And yes, the blanket is from Evie. I love it so much!! The pillow is by Cait. Their stores on that site are dangerous to my wallet.

  3. Mm, bacon! :) Love the blanket, it's sooooo pretty!!!! As for the uncertain internet connection, let me tell you that they're rewiring the entire neighborhood here, and so, on Friday we had no power all day (which meant no laptop, stove, AC, and of course, internet) And they didn't even give us notice in advance! *insert livid face here*

    1. Thanks Ramona. I love the blanket so much!! And OMG, NO POWER ALL DAY!!! That would drive me INSANE!! Last summer, Naples was having an intense heat wave and the electric company was having issues, so there were a couple days we went without power all day too. That is no fun, especially in the heat!

  4. I'M SORRY I DON'T LIKE BACON.

    runs away forever.

But anyways, yes being away from the internet absolutely sucks! I haven't had to be in that situation yet, but I probably will at some point. Also, is it sad I haven't read Harry Potter since elementary/middle school days, when it first came out. I'm hoping that someone will buy me the series at one point in my life, hahaha.

    1. Ahhh, Valerie that is CRAZY! I just don't know if I can talk to you anymore. Hahaha, just kidding. I guess I can overlook one flaw. ;) It is very sad that you haven't read Harry Potter since school. But I can understand: it can be hard to find the time to reread. I have the series on my Kindle, but I REALLY want the hardback copies as well.

  5. I do love me some bacon. Or, as I prefer to call it: pig candy. No internet for SIX days? Oh, the humanity. That is cruel and unusual. I would be running to and fro searching for wi-fi. And I adore both Evie's and Cait's stores! Evie in particular gets way too much of my money. LOL

    1. Tanya, ooooh pig candy. I am totally STEALING that. I hope you don't mind. :) Mmm . . . delicious pig candy. And yeah, since I am living in Italy there is virtually no wi-fi anywhere! I do miss the States, especially since you can always find a Starbucks with free wi-fi. Evie and Cait are so dangerous for my wallet! I have several of their items on my wishlist. Everything is so beautiful!
