I really want Jane Steele too! I love how pretty that cover is as well.
ReplyDeleteAnd ahh I had a hardcover of ADSOM and it's missing! I don't know where I misplaced it. :/ So I'm going to have to buy a copy.
Nick, I absolutely love Jane Eyre so the concept of that retelling sounds really interesting. And I just read my first VE Schwab book (Vicious) so I really need to read her other stuff.
DeleteGreat picks.I have heard good things about Before the Fall and also Jane Steele. I have never read My Mother's Secret, hadn't heard about it until this post but that is a book I would be interested in reading. Great post.
ReplyDeleteHere is what I would get with my gift card:https://ahavenforbooklovers.wordpress.com/2016/08/02/top-ten-books-that-i-would-buy-right-now-if-i-got-a-gift-card/
Thanks Diana! Glad I could help put a few more books on your TBR. :)
DeleteI have had A Little Life on my wishlist forever and always check for price drops and missed that!!! I look forward to your thoughts when you read it. The Girls That Went Away and She's Not There look interesting!
ReplyDeleteGrace, I actually check my Amazon wishlist EVERY SINGLE DAY (obsessed much ??) so I managed to catch it.
DeleteI lovelovelove A Darker Shade of Magic and The Song of Achilles and have read both multiple times so I'd say you need to read them ASAP.
ReplyDeleteI also have The Bone Clocks, Jane Steele and The Bone Clocks on my to-buy list.
Sana, I am so glad you loved those books. That is very promising. I love VE Schwab so I am super excited to read A Darker Shade of Magic.
DeleteI've heard Jane Steele is a really fun read so looking forward to getting that one soon too :)
ReplyDeleteSuzanne, the premise of that one looks so awesome!
DeleteI'm really curious about The Siren myself. Good picks. Have a great week!

Sandy @ Somewhere Only We Know
Thanks so much Sandy!
DeleteThe Song of Achilles is one of my favorite books! If I got a gift card, I'd also use it for more expensive books or ones I wouldn't usually purchase.
ReplyDeleteGreat list!
I am so glad to hear that Jolien! I would definitely go to my Amazon wishlist and just pick the books that cost the most if I had a gift card.
DeleteAwesome list! I really want to own V.E. Schwab's Shades of Magic series. I've only read the first one, but I know I'm going to want all of them. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Jordan! VE Schwab is a great author. I am sure it's awesome.
DeleteI really want to read Siren and The Song of Achilles, I've seen them around so much that I almost feel bad for not having read them. Ughhghgh
ReplyDelete- Jen from The Bookavid
Me too Bookavid!
DeleteI haven't read any of the books on your list. Hope you receive the books you want soon. Happy reading!!
ReplyDeleteHere's a link to my TTT post for the week: http://captivatedreader.blogspot.com/2016/08/top-ten-tuesday-ten-books-id-buy-right.html
Thanks Captivated Reader!
DeleteYou should read A Darker Shade of Magic ASAP! It's soooooo good!
ReplyDeleteMy TTT: https://jjbookblog.wordpress.com/2016/08/02/top-ten-tuesday-68/
I will do that for sure!
DeleteI think The Song of Achilles sounds really good, love a mythology tale and I'm not fmiliar with that one. The Siren has a nice cover too!
ReplyDeleteGreg, I absolutely love mythology retellings and that is the main reason I want to read this one so badly.
DeleteI just picked up A Little Life, also! I'm afraid to read it, I've heard it's brilliant but harrowing.
ReplyDeleteKwizgiver, me too! I have heard it's heartbreaking. I will have to be in the right head space for it.
DeleteI just read A Darker Shade of Magic a few days ago and LOVED it, although the sequel is not amazing me nearly as much. You list is, as always, really interesting--just added "The Girls Who Went Away," "My Mother's Secret" and "She's Not There" to my TBR!
ReplyDeleteI am so glad to hear that, Wendy! Sucks that the sequel wasn't as good, but I am glad to hear the first one was amazing. So glad I could add more books to your TBR. :)
DeleteThe Siren sounds so good! Great list!
ReplyDeleteKrystianna @ Downright Dystopian
Thanks Krystianna!
DeleteOMG. Love Wins needs to be on my reading list, stat. Thank you for putting it on my radar!
ReplyDeleteJoy, I am so glad I could let you know about a new book! I am sure that is a good one.
DeleteThe only one of these I own is Schwab's - still haven't read it yet. This week's TTT just made me realize how many books on my shelves I still need to read!! :-)
ReplyDeleteNicole @ Feed Your Fiction Addiction
Nicole, I KNOW, RIGHT?!? There are just so many books that I already own, but haven't read. But I can't help buying new ones!
DeleteI would want Illuminae and Six of Crows even though I have arc and audiobook copies, but the books are so pretty!
ReplyDeleteNereyda, aren't they though?? I had to buy the hardcover copy of Illuminae because it was just so beautiful!
DeleteI haven't heard of some of these! Those are mostly the ones that look like nonfiction. A Darker Shade of Magic is amazing and will probably leaving you wanting the sequel soon afterward. Unless you end up not liking it, of course.
ReplyDeleteKaitlin, I don't even read that much nonfiction, but I have been trying to read more of it. You know, go outside my comfort zone and all that. So glad you loved A Darker Shade of Magic. I love VE Schwab, so I am sure it is amazing.
