December Wrap-Up

Welcome to the wrap-up for the month of December!
I am linking up to both the Sunday Post @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer and the Sunday Post @ Feed Your Fiction Addiction.

December was such a great month. I spent two and a half weeks back in the States with my family. It was awesome and chaotic and just what I needed. Living in Italy is great, but I get homesick. My husband's family lives in Alabama and my family lives in Georgia, so we split our time between the two.
I had a few scheduled posts go up this month, but I did very little blogging. The few times I would pick up my phone or my computer, my nine year old niece would say, "Put that down and play with me!" How could I resist that? I was very happy to watch Christmas movies with my niece and nephew, make Christmas cookies and play lots of board games, like Operation and Trouble (their Christmas gifts). I also did a lot of reading. So if it took me two weeks to respond to a blog comment you made or comment on your blog, that's why.

Here are my adorable niece and nephew:
Can you stand the cuteness??

This was an okay reading month for me. I read several amazing books and I had a few bad apples, but a lot of the books I read were just okay. I spent most of the month trying to clear my TBR and I read quite a few books that have been on my Kindle for a year or more. I ended up reading a wide assortment of books this month.

I read a total of 24 books this month. These are the books that I read:

Favorite book read:

Is it really a surprise that I couldn't just pick one??
One of these was suspenseful as hell and I couldn't stop smiling at the adorableness of the other one. I am sure you can guess which was which.

Most disappointing read:
This one was so very bad. There are no words. It's about a girl who falls in love with a man who kidnaps her, rapes her, and controls her. It was awful. Thank God I had bought this one when it was free on Amazon because I would hate to have lost any money on this one.

    1. Thanks Grace! Hidden Bodies was really, really good. I didn't like it as much as You, but I still found Joe super creepy and I still loved him anyway. Some things never change!

  2. I've been thinking about reading Bird Box but wasn't sure if I would like it. Now I'm hyped about it again and I'm thinking I might pick it up later during the year.

  3. I'm glad you enjoyed Simon! I LOVED that book so much! I spent most December slowly rereading Harry Potter so I have to say my favorite read was Goblet of Fire.

  6. Happy New Year. It looks like you read a lot of fun books. There are so many!! :D
'Consequences' sounds really bad. I don't get why people write books about that.

    Have a great week ;)

    1. Happy New Year to you as well Maureen! What's even worse about the book Consequences is that it gets REALLY good reviews on Amazon. There were so many people who loved it. Ugh. Annoying!

  7. Ohmygod, Blogger keeps on eating up my comment, I've been trying to post this for so long. Anywho, sorryy :c Your tree is SO GORGEOUS. Just...woah. Look at it! And those tiny prett lights. And your niece and nephew are the cutest, omg. I wanna hug them. 24 books in December? That is some busy month, and it's fantastic. I'm in awe of you right now.

    1. Nirvana, I'm so sorry Blogger kept eating your comments! Dammit, I hate when that happens. And yes, I know I am biased but my niece and nephew really ARE the cutest. Haha. Don't be in too much awe of my number. I am just a really fast reader. Also, I had two ten hour plane rides. That allowed for a lot of reading. :)

  9. Christmas movies, family time... that's the best. Glad you had a great visit! I love Trouble by the way- had it growing up and still have a soft spot for it. The pop o matic LOL.

24 books- wow! I didn't read much in Dec, but it was still a good month. I think the cover of Conversion is cool, every time I see it I want to read it. And Bird Box I heard was good.

    1. Greg, I swear it has been SO LONG since I have played Trouble. I don't want to say just how long because that would give away my age. Ha. But that's why I love kids, they allow your inner child to come out. :) Bird Box was AMAZING!! It was so chilling and I just heard there will be a sequel. Yay! Conversion was a pretty good book. There were a few parts that dragged, but I would recommend it.
