Sunday Post and March Wrap-Up

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer.  This week I thought I would use the Sunday post to recap the month of March.

Can you believe that March is over already?? Ugh, time just needs to SLOW DOWN!! But I do have a lot to look forward to over the next few months: a birthday trip to London, a trip to Scotland, and a summer trip to the States to visit my family. I miss them so much!

This month has been pretty good, reading wise. I read a lot and I loved most of the books I read. I read 23 books and finished one audio book.

Year to date I have read 64 books!

Reviews I posted:
Alias Grace by Margaret Atwood
The Lottery and Other Stories by Shirley Jackson
The Wild Oats Project by Robin Rinaldi
Seed by Lisa Heathfield
Looking for Alaska by John Green
The Princess Bride by William Goldman
Don't Stay Up Late by R.L. Stine
To Kill A Mockingbird by Harper Lee (audio book)
Taken and Frozen by Erin Bowman
I Know Why The Caged Bird Sings by Maya Angelou
Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury
Pretty Ugly by Kirker Butler

Favorite Book Read This Month:

I haven't posted a review yet, but it has to be Cinder by Marissa Meyer

I am so happy I finally read this. I'm just sorry I didn't do it sooner! I hadn't bought the rest of the series yet because I wanted to wait and see if I enjoyed the first one. I will be purchasing the rest of the series very soon.

Discussions This Month:

Changes in Reading Preferences
Harper Lee News
Censorship
I won the Sisterhood of the World Bloggers Award
And I played a bookish game of Would You Rather?

I also did a rather fun (and tasty!) Chocolate Book Tag

Top Ten Lists This Month:

Top Ten Favorite Books From The Past Three Years
Top Ten Books on my Spring TBR
Top Books From My Childhood
Top Books I Just Added to My TBR

I also shared some pictures from Caserta Palace in Naples, Italy and my trip to Florence, Italy.

Challenge Updates:

New To You Challenge: 30/48

Read Harder Challenge: 14/24

Banned Books Challenge: 8/15

TBR Pile Challenge: 8/14

Hope everyone had an awesome month!!

What was your favorite book read during the month of March?

  1. Hi Cynthia, Looking forward to your review of Cinder. I read about half of it and really liked it, but got distracted by other books (fantasy usually beats Sci-fi in my TBR) :)

    1. Daniela, ha I know what you mean. Sometimes I am reading two or more books at a time because of different moods. Cinder is amazing though. :)

  2. You had a great month reading and you are rocking those challenges! And lucky you with a trip to London and Scotland to look forward to, that will be a lot of fun. As of course will be the trip home, it must be lonely at times without your family and old friends. I'm glad you loved Cinder so much, I just finished Cress last night and I don't know I'll hold on till Winter comes out :O

  3. Your challenges are looking good ! I have Cinder too but haven't read it yet, I'm dying to - so many books, so little time... Where will you go in Scotland ? Edinburgh is such a beautiful town, but the Highlands are all gorgeous and the Isle of Skye is otherwordly. Have a great sunday ;)

    1. thereaderjunkie, I hope you get to Cinder soon because it is awesome! And actually we are going to Edinburgh and the Highlands! We will fly into Edinburg and spend two days. Then we will rent a car and drive around the Highlands. I have heard so many great things about it. I am so looking forward to all the beautiful scenery! Not sure if we will have time for the Isle of Sky, but we will be going to St. Andrews, Stirling, Glencoe, Ft William, and Loch Ness. And we will be fitting in a distillery somewhere in there. :)

  4. I did exactly the same thing, and put off reading Cinder for the longest time. And when I finally read it, I had to ask myself why I waited to so long. It's a great series. Hope you'll enjoy the rest. (Cress is the best so far, in my opinion) Wow, your list of what you read so far is quite impressive. Excellent job!

  6. YAY!!! I'm so glad you enjoyed Cinder!!! I actually had to push myself through this one, and it isn't my favorite in the series. I much rather enjoyed Scarlet, only because I feel I relate to her more, but Cress is the best one yet! Super fun and adventurous :)
