Bout of Books 14 Final Update!

This is my final update for the Bout of Books Read-A-Thon!

The Bout of Books Read-a-Thon is organized by Amanda @ On a Book Bender and Kelly @ Reading the Paranormal. It's a week long read-a-thon that begins at 12:00 am on Monday, August 17 and runs through Sunday, August 23 in whatever timezone you are in. Bout of Books is low-pressure. There are challenges, giveaways, and a grand prize, but all of these are completely optional. For all Bout of Books 14 information and updates, be sure to visit the Bout of Books blog.

Hope everyone had a great week of reading. I was able to knock several ARCs off my TBR list. Woo-hoo!

So how did I do on my goals for this week:
  • read at least five books - Check! I actually finished read eight books this week.
  • read for at least three hours every day (180 minutes) - Check! I read at least three hours every single day. Most of the day, I read more than that.
  • participate in at least one Twitter chat - Check! I live in Italy so I was happy that the time difference allowed me to participate in a chat.
  • participate in at least two mini challenges - Check! I ended up participating in four of the mini challenges.
  • ENJOY everything I am reading! No forced reading this week! - I did really well on this one. There was only one book I read that annoyed me. All the others were excellent books!!
And don't forget to enter the my giveaway! The giveaway for a new August release of your choice lasts until August 31!

I got my three hours of reading done today, but the actual amount read was less than other days. Had a bad cold all day. Sneezing all day does not make for very fast reading. Ha. Finished Alice by Christina Henry, a very dark retelling of Alice in Wonderland

  1. Good luck!! Can't wait to see what you think of More Happy Than Not!

  2. Good luck with you goals, I love your one about no forced reading as I hate when I feel obliged to read.

  3. AHHHH I can't WAIT to see what you think of More Happy Than Not and The Scorpion Rules. I absolutely am dying for those two. :') GOOD LUCK WITH THE READATHON!

  4. Hope you love More Happy Than Not. And I'm eager to see what you think of The Scorpion Rules too (I've got that one from NetGalley).

  5. You did great on day 1! Way to go.

  6. Hello it looks like you had a great first day to the readathon! You've already finished a book. Hope you have a great rest of the week. If you'd like to see my day 1 update you can see it here

  7. Whoa!! 352 pages in 3hr and 45 minutes!! Thats wicked fast!! It seriously takes me like 30 minutes to read like 15-20 pages... i guess i daydream and get distracted or something. Hmm, good luck on day 2. :)

    1. Thanks Bemused Bookworm! Ha, you sound like my husband. He gets distracted easily while reading too. I think he has ADD. Haha. I have always been a super fast reader though. :)

  8. Your first day was way better than mine! I needed the reminder about no forced reading, thanks! I'm starting on the YA and graphic novels today and hoping it'll kick me into gear :-) have a great week!

    1. Thanks Bex! With this read-a-thon, it really helps to read something you LOVE. Otherwise, it just feels like work and reading should never be work. I hope you have a great week! :)

  9. Great job so far! I can't believe how fast of a reader you are - I could never finish 352 pages in a little under four hours! I really like you're no forced reading goal - I may have to adopt that as the week progresses. Good luck with the rest of the week!

    1. Thanks Olivia! I guess I have always been a fast reader. :) I hope you are having a great reading week!

  10. Woah! You are doing so great! You're almost to your five book goal already! Keep up that great work! Too bad The Scorpion Rules isn't more engaging, with a premise like that it sounds like it should be! I'm glad you are enjoying More Happy Than Not though, I've been hearing fabulous things about that one. Many happy wishes for the rest of your reading week! Though with a reading speed that fast I doubt you'll need them! :D

    1. Thanks so much Emma! More Happy Than Not was SO GOOD!!!

  11. Wow, you're doing awesome this round of BOB 14.0... I am not reading as much as I thought I would this week thus far.

    1. Thanks Captivated Reader. And remember: any reading is good reading! :)

    2. I agree with you that any reading is good reading!! I finished reading a total of three books this week and have read a few chapters of a 4th book... I am hoping to squeeze a few more chapters before I go to bed tonight.

  12. Awesome job! Saturday's Twitter chat was so much fun. I hope you have a good last day of the readathon!

  13. Whoa! 3 hours a day? 8 books in a week? I want to be you!

    1. Ha, thanks Amber. I am a speed reader. It also helps that I have no job. ;)

    2. Ha, thanks Amber. I am a speed reader. It also helps that I have no job. ;)
