Bout of Books 14 Final Update!

This is my final update for the Bout of Books Read-A-Thon!

The Bout of Books Read-a-Thon is organized by Amanda @ On a Book Bender and Kelly @ Reading the Paranormal. It's a week long read-a-thon that begins at 12:00 am on Monday, August 17 and runs through Sunday, August 23 in whatever timezone you are in. Bout of Books is low-pressure. There are challenges, giveaways, and a grand prize, but all of these are completely optional. For all Bout of Books 14 information and updates, be sure to visit the Bout of Books blog.

Hope everyone had a great week of reading. I was able to knock several ARCs off my TBR list. Woo-hoo!

So how did I do on my goals for this week:
  • read at least five books - Check! I actually finished read eight books this week.
  • read for at least three hours every day (180 minutes) - Check! I read at least three hours every single day. Most of the day, I read more than that.
  • participate in at least one Twitter chat - Check! I live in Italy so I was happy that the time difference allowed me to participate in a chat.
  • participate in at least two mini challenges - Check! I ended up participating in four of the mini challenges.
  • ENJOY everything I am reading! No forced reading this week! - I did really well on this one. There was only one book I read that annoyed me. All the others were excellent books!!
And don't forget to enter the my giveaway! The giveaway for a new August release of your choice lasts until August 31!

Progress:

Monday
Books Read: 1
Pages Read: 352
Minutes Read: 225 (3h 45 min)
Notes: I participated in the Fictional World Travel Challenge. I finished Vivian Apple Needs A Miracle and started on If You Wrong Us.

Tuesday
Books Read: 2
Total Books Read: 3
Pages Read: 384
Minutes Read: 205 (3 hr. 25 min)
Notes: I participated in the Bout of Books Scavenger Hunt. I finished If You Wrong Us, read and finished Please Remain Calm (this was more of a novella) and started The Scorpion Rules. The Scorpion Rules was a bit boring so I stopped reading it at 25%. Since it is an ARC, I am sure I will come back to it. But it's just not exciting me enough for this read-a-thon.

Wednesday
Books Read: 1
Total Books Read: 4
Pages Read: 354
Minutes Read: 210 (3 h. 30 min)
Notes: Read and finished More Happy Than Not. I could not put this book down. So good!

Thursday
Books Read: 1
Total Books Read: 5
Pages Read: 391
Minutes Read: 215 (3 hr. 35 min)
Notes: Participated in Four Seasons Cover Challenge. Read and finished Vengeance Road. I have now met my goals for the number of books read. Yay!

Friday
Books Read: 1
Total Books Read: 6
Pages Read: 280
Minutes Read: 185 (3 hr. 5 min)
Notes:
I got my three hours of reading done today, but the actual amount read was less than other days. Had a bad cold all day. Sneezing all day does not make for very fast reading. Ha. Finished Alice by Christina Henry, a very dark retelling of Alice in Wonderland

Saturday
Books Read: 1
Total Books Read: 7
Pages Read:
369
Minutes Read: 265 (4 hr. 25 min)
Notes: I pretty much stayed up until midnight so I could finish The Martian. I did not expect to like that one as much as I did. It was really good! I also participated in the Twitter chat. So fun!

Sunday
Books Read: 1
Total Books Read: 8
Pages Read: 325
Minutes Read: 180 (3 hours)
Notes: Participated in the What To Read Next Challenge. Read Are you still there. I had a lot of issues with that book, but I read it anyway. It was a review copy so it needed to be read.

    1. Thanks Bemused Bookworm! Ha, you sound like my husband. He gets distracted easily while reading too. I think he has ADD. Haha. I have always been a super fast reader though. :)

  9. Great job so far! I can't believe how fast of a reader you are - I could never finish 352 pages in a little under four hours! I really like you're no forced reading goal - I may have to adopt that as the week progresses. Good luck with the rest of the week!

  10. Woah! You are doing so great! You're almost to your five book goal already! Keep up that great work! Too bad The Scorpion Rules isn't more engaging, with a premise like that it sounds like it should be! I'm glad you are enjoying More Happy Than Not though, I've been hearing fabulous things about that one. Many happy wishes for the rest of your reading week! Though with a reading speed that fast I doubt you'll need them! :D
