WWW Wednesday

This is a weekly meme hosted by MizB at Should be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just answer the following three questions . . .

  • what are you currently reading?
  • what did you just finish reading?
  • what do you think you'll read next?

What are you currently reading?

Big, Little Lies . . . . I have heard so many good things about this one!

What did you just finish reading?

I have actually been very lucky in the last week. Since my last WWW Wednesday post, I have read several books and most of them have been amazing! Mostly 4 or 5 star books. I love when that happens. Here are the books I have read this week:

The Girl with all the Gifts (click here for my review)
Eleanor and Park (click here for my review)
After Birth (review will be posted in January, a little closer to the publication date; you can click here for my teaser I published yesterday!)
An Untamed State (click here for my review)
The DUFF: Designated Ugly Fat Friend - This is the only book I was not crazy about. I didn't hate it, but I didn't really care for it either. I don't even know if I have feelings about it strongly enough to review it for the blog.

What do you think you'll read next?

Hmm . . . so many choices! I think I will finally read All The Light We Cannot See. That one has been popping up on so many "best of" lists for the year. It might be nice to read it before the year ends.

Have you read any good books lately?

  1. Wow, you've been a reading machine and only one didn't work for you. That's a pretty good streak.

  3. I'm sorry you didn't love The DUFF that much. I didn't adore it but I really did like it. I'm not sure how I feel about the movie that's coming out yet though.
I want to read The Girl with All the Gifts and Eleanor & Park both so much. I loved Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell so that is always a plus.
I want to read All The Light We Cannot See. I have a feeling I'll love it.
The last book that I really liked was The Retribution Of Mara Dyer (haha and it was also the last book I read ,so I'm not complaining). I gave it a 4,5 (still at 4 on Goodreads but that's awesome). The best one in the trilogy in my opinion. THE LAST 100 PAGES OH MY.

    1. Anna, I loved the Mara Dyer series! The final one was the best, I think. Since I loved Eleanor and Park so much, I plan on reading Fangirl soon.

  6. I remember liking The DUFF when I read it a couple of years ago. I also remember some instances where I didn't like the main character so I know where you are coming from.
I didn't know there was a sequel to the Christmas Carol. Honestly I prefer the movies (Muppets!) rather than the book.
I haven't read anything good lately just some alright books. I actually DNF'd a book I really wanted to read all year so bleh.

    1. Adriana, I love a Muppet Christmas Carol! I try to watch it every year. Great version. I hate it when a supposedly great book ends up a DNF. Yech, no good.

  7. I'm very much looking forward to The Girl With The Gifts, your review made me want to read it all the more - I'm reading Standalones in January, so I may have to add this to the list. I enjoyed the DUFF, maybe because I was also a potty mouthed teen, so I connected with the character in that sense, but I know that the book and Bianca as a character can be polarising. 8. The Duff has been on my "to read" list for quite awhile. I need to fit it in sometime soon. I've heard such mixed reviews, I think it's time I decide for myself. :)

    Happy reading!

    My W... W... W... Wednesday!

    1. I agree with that Kim. I always hesitate at books with mixed reviews, but sometimes I end up loving them. You just have to see for yourself. I hope you enjoy it.
